Do me a favor…

Google “nessacary.” Yes, there are that many no-spelling assmonkeys in the world.

They can’t all be typos.

I am. I’m such an elitist cow that way. Even now, if I read over a post and find a spelling error in my own writing, I get all embar-, embarra-, um, upset, and correct it. Yes, I am one of those irritating “spelling counts” people!

I can’t help it! I read a lot, which means a whole bunch of time staring at the written word, for which I have perhaps undue reverence. I get worked up over these little things.

Don’t even get me started on gangsta/hip-hop lit. Lordy, lordy.

LOL. I know what you mean. I was never a real spell checker, but my last job made sure that attention to detail was paramount. I go back and correct spelling errors, but I dont think the blogging technology works well if you are 150% attention to detail. Sometimes I miss the slimey (SP!!!) suckers.

What I find interesting is spelling in marketing. For example kids who are learning to spell and see ‘light’ spelt as ‘lite’. The Burger King down the road have a sea food basket of deeply fried sea creatures and spell calamari’ as Kalamari. I wonder if this confuses the litle ones.

You’re just like I am in that respect!!! I HATE typos. HATE THEM. I am a GREAT speller - I’m that person in the office that people just shout words out to and I spell them…free of charge!!! =)) You are so right - when it comes to language, spelling, syntax, etc. I’m exactly the same…I re-read my own posts all the time, picking and picking, switching and changing sentences. I’m a mess. But if you ever see me use their instead of there, or something similar - please always know that it was a TYPO!!! LOL and feel free to correct me. =)
