Once upon a time, I was going to make this image my blog background.
It is a cartoon self-portrait, you see. Someday, I may still get around to it. But suddenly I just want to make paper dolls of myself and dress me up in couture and gems and stick little cut-out bottles of chateauneuf-du-pape in my little paper hands. (Yes, I am self-involved enough to want to play with dolls of myself. What of it?)
In other words, I am dreaming of a life of excess even as poverty looms.
Alas.
A nice dose of delicious mock-richness: The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). One of my all-time-favorite films. Art, intrigue, sexy, money, and Manhattan.
On another note, I have decided that I will not allow myself to buy anything heavier than earrings before my move at the end of this month. The spider bedding was purchased on sale, shortly before I made this decision, so it doesn’t count. Although I will need to find a duvet cover to pair it with…that can wait. Ahem. Expect to see a lot of accessories-related posts going forward.

Awww. I think it’s a great picture. Mine tend to look like deformed Simpson’s rip-offs with cleft palates and lazy eyes.

I think it’s adorable. Although I’m used to seeing you with your hair loose and straight, or even in curls. Never seen you in braids.

QTPIE! I didn’t know you could draw. Yay for learning new things about bestest friends. I particularly like how the rendering reminds me of Snoopy’s happy dance. You capture movement in that drawing. . . . Love it!
