I know that it's gotten more expensive in the last few years, but it may be one of the neighborhoods left where you're actually get something for your money (space, subway access, diversity, etc.). And if you can live with walking 20 minutes to get to the nearest subway stop, there's Bed-Stuy and East New York in Brooklyn. Yeah...that's what I thought. Never mind.
