Okay. I am now truly fascinated by the Jeffrey support! One or two could be written off, but four of you have taken time out of your days to speak up in his favor.
I’m not in the habit of not at least understanding opposing views. I mean, I “get” the GOP, murderers, real estate brokers in NYC. At this point in my mind, Jeffrey is trapped on a little list with child molestation and crip walkin’. I’m not happy about that. I want to see his charms.
So. I would actually really be interested in knowing, either in comments or via email (siddity at gmail) which looks Jeffrey fans felt worked, and why, exactly. I need to look at him with new eyes, I think. For instance, someone pointed out the green striped jacket look. I agree that was one of his stronger ensembles, but aside from the jacket, which I thought was nice, the look was somehow recycled. I thought the green striped dress was interesting, but I thought the shoes were the wrong punctutation on that statement. I liked the swimsuit, full stop. I want to slap him for that fugly red and white babydoll. And if he had been allowed to do the wigs…ugh. Sorry.
So tell me, did you feel like the black sling skirt was hot, or the graphic black and red striped dress, etc., and how would you wear it?
I would also like to point out that I actually LIKED Jeffrey’s persona. I mean, hello, I love rockstars. Boys with tatoos are my favorite. I didn’t even see any of the episodes when he was being a big ass, apparently. Maybe that’s what I needed, to build up an admiration of his work over the season?
I didn’t mind Jeffrey at first and I probably would have been more glad he won if it weren’t for the whole thing with Angela and her mom. Mind you, I don’t like Angela and her mom annoyed even me. But his attitude towards her, how he treated her, made her cry, was so virulently opposed to designing for a body that wasn’t a toothpick… I lost all respect for him. Then, HIS mom is there and doesn’t even seem all that concerned that her own son was acting the way that he was and was hardly apologetic. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree??
Basically I think he ran that former drug addict thing into the ground, like we should all overlook that he’s a jerk 98% of the time because by God, he pulled himself up out of the gutter. Well, a lot of people have hardships and things they overcome to be successful in life. I’m not going to slap Jeffrey on the back and say JOB WELL DONE any harder than I would Uli for getting to where she is.
I sound like I take this way more seriously than I really do. I’m not all that offended Jeffrey won since the judges always scream INNOVATION. Basically when I saw his couture dress in Paris, I knew he’d have a whole runway show in the bag. I wouldn’t wear it but it was the only dress that showed any type of vision. The rest all blew. Including Laura’s. Uli’s was okay.
The personal stuff, eh… Never been good at separating. Its why I’m not a judge. Among other things.
And you aren’t the only one that has the hots for Tom C. And don’t get me started on Carlos. The opening credits ran, I see him, drool starts to form and here’s R piping up: Do you think he’s cute??? I was like Uh, yeah. Yeah I do. *guilty*
I don’t think I answered any of your questions, did I? Now I’m the one beating the dead horse. Hmph.
Funnily enough, I just, belatedly, examined his Cosa Nostra site, Cosanostrainc.com, and I actually DO like the stuff he’s got up there in his own collections. Which makes me think it may be that I just hated his Bryant Park collection and really would have liked other things he’d done on the show. But I do recall also hating his black and white design. Don’t remember the couture dress, hated the red/white/blue in a carriage “romantic” getup. I wish Bravo would show older episodes now. Whatevs.
I would buy this outfit today. TODAY. If I only had the abs:

I also loved the green and white jacket and the dress as well.
I hate the shoes though. All the shoe choices were bad.
But of course, I’m sure my body type would trouble him.
I loved the striped green/silver dress! And I could wear it (and I’m not a skinny size 2). And yes, he was a total jackass — and an inconsistent designer — during the show, but his collection was easily the best of the final four.
From Jeff’s collection I liked the red and white polka dot dress (I would wear this) , the white pants and cropped shirt and the navy blue dress.
I watched the show again this weekend and I feel as though Uli should’ve won. I would wear every single piece in her show.
