I always thought it was more Northeast, but hey, I’m not complaining.

| What American accent do you have?
Your Result: Philadelphia
Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you’re not from Philadelphia, then you’re from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you’ve ever journeyed to some far off place where people don’t know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn’t have a clue what accent it was they heard. |

ha! i did this EXACT thing today and it was pretty dead-on. it said i was from the west. it was correct. howEVER, i don’t think i really talk like i’m from the west.
Where I grew up, if you pronounced your “r’s” you were either trying to be “claaassy,” or you were talking to a judge. I had no idea I had an accent, until my first college boyfriend kindly pointed it out to me. He was from a wealthy suburb of the city; I was from an old milltown far north. “You’re such a townie,” he said to me. “What’s that,” I asked. “You,” he said, tapping me on the nose.
Now, if that had happened after my first women’s studies class, I would have bitten his finger off. Alas, I was starstruck by this child of privilege, and had the delusion he would be the Oliver Barrett to my Jennifer [read: Jennifa]. Being young and stupid, I went out of my way to lose the accent, developing this aggressive non-accent, like a newscaster.
As I grew older, all that effort got to be too tiresome. The quiz is spot-on. I do have a Boston accent.
Damn, they’re good! It pegged me right too!
