You like me, you really like me!

More than one person has described my relationship with my former job as reminiscent of a woman with an abusive boyfriend.

That may be so, but let’s not talk about that.

Let’s talk about how my new job is like the best boyfriend I never had! I’ve been here over two months now, but I just went full-time/permanent today. Emails and phonecalls of congrats have been flying around all afternoon. A cheer went up–I kid you not, a cheer, from 2 different offices–when I got my own email addy. The New York office sent me candy and flowers in welcome. Candy! Flowers! I’ve got welcome breakfast and lunch to attend (well, and plan, actually, it’s part of my job, but hey, if you plan your own party, you know you won’t hate the nosh). And they’re planning to pay me!

I know, it’s only been a few months, and it could possibly all shoot straight to hell in time, but right now, I’m really happy with where I’ve landed. *Gazing with incredulity at bouquet*

Flowers! The only other time I’ve gotten flowers that weren’t from my family was when my jackass ex gave me a carnation one of our bio students had left over from a capillary action experiment! (No, I did not poke him in the eye with it. I should have, though.)

    That is wonderful!

My cousin started a new hospital job a couple months ago that’s like the Prince Charming of jobs. People thank her and praise her all the live-long day—a nice switch-up from 7 years at a place where nobody said nice things and the unit manager got all anal about tracking people’s hours and whereabouts.

Long may you prosper with your Prince Charming job!

Coinstar! I love me some coinstar. I saw a girl using it the other day with a Chanel bag. Which then made me contemplate if it were faux or not. Must be, huh? :)

    Congrats on the fab job!!
