Shut. The Fuck. Up.

Okay, I understand Hollywood writers are only getting a fraction of the profits churned out by the big nasty industry machine, but um, bitches?

Y’all don’t need a damned fundraiser.

You aren’t living hand-to-mouth in a war-torn nation, your children are not starving, your women are not being raped and then blamed for…well. You don’t live in a war-torn nation, anyway.

You bitches are opting NOT to work. You are choosing this. This is not a nurses’ or a teachers’ union here, where the world fundamentally neeeeeeeds your skills. I mean, seriously.

Eddie, as much as I adore you, I’m going to have to take a pass on supporting this one.

Don’t these people make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year? To write extremely tired, unoriginal b.s.?

    Boo writers fundraiser. Boo.

i bet if they invested what they’ve put into union dues over the past decade or so, they’d have a nice little nest-egg to live on!

can we create the “poor bloggers” fundraiser?

I could be wrong, but might this be a fundraiser for the crew members who are out of work because of the strike? If so, then it’s actually a very nice gesture.

Possible, but they should say it’s a benefit for the crews…and while it is a nice gesture, I sure wish someone would hold a benefit for me in case I ever get laid off. When normal people get canned, the attitude is pretty much: that sucks! Go get another job!

Also, Royce only seats 1800 people and tix are $75. This is only going to gross $135,000. After Sarah Silverman’s paid laughers, Eddie’s Marlboros and venue rental costs, that’s not going to cover more than two or three gaffer’s meth habits for the week.

I insensitively kid. But no, my charity funds are going to Doctors Without Borders again this year.

Nah, looks like it just goes to help the poorer writers, though some other things are going to help the rest of those affected:

I’m loving the free and discounted meals, drinks, spa services and psychic readings being handed out in Tinseltown!

God forbid someone should go four weeks without a french pedi!

*Staring at my budget, in which there is currently NO room for a spa service, discounted or otherwise*

I’m still having a hard time with this one. I do like that some of the better paid writers are helping their poorly paid peers. But damn. No, nope, I prefer BBC shows anyway.

    *grouchy old man face*

Oh, wow it’s just for the strikers? That’s kinda lame then, considering all the free shit they apparently get. Yeah, my donation funds have a lot more work to do elsewhere.
