On the homefront…

Eesh. There’s surprisingly little to blog about when you spend most of your time at home on the digiwebs looking for work and/or reading sci-fi/fantasy mystery novels. I mean, I could write a post every day whining about the calluses and blisters on my fingers and transcribing my eating habits for the week, but…why?

More interesting, in a depressing sort of way: Domino folded a few days ago. Domino. I should know better, but I’d have thought that was pretty recession-proof. I keep reading all these media deathwatch-post comments railing against the design mags for featuring overpriced goods and not catering enough to readers and lauding design blogs, which I understand, I do. But do people realize how much design blogs use magazines for their content? If anything else folds, they’ll have next to nothing left to talk about besides catalogs and Bravo TV contestants.

I’m not looking for additional work in media. I’m gonna make like M and try to find a university gig.

I wondered the same thing. They keep blaming blogs for the death of old media but A) blogs were actually linking back to their online sources and bring attention to their content so that is more so bring traffic rather than driving it away. And B) What the hell will bloggers write about if there is no more print media? Strange, strange world we are living in these days.
